May 1, 2025

As May begins, we reflect on a month of impactful security efforts by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps). The Corps responded to 36 crime-related incidents in April 2025, showing our strong commitment to peace and order in Ogun state.
Among the top highlights was the rescue of nine victims trafficked from Ghana. This cross-border operation emphasized the Corps’ dedication to protecting lives beyond local boundaries.

Earlier in April, in Ilase, Ipokia Local Government, our officers arrested armed robbery suspects and recovered weapons and stolen goods. A major drug bust also took place at the Ajuwon Division, where eight suspects were arrested in collaboration with sister agencies.
Serious cases like child defilement and kidnapping in Alapoti Ado Odo and Ijebu Ode were also addressed promptly, and all suspects were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for investigation and prosecution, demonstrating our respect for justice and due process.
The Corps also prioritized community outreach, visiting divisions in Ado Odo/Igbesa, Ifo, and Owode Yewa. These visits boosted collaboration and reinforced public trust in the agency.
April also came with its fair share of tribulations. In Ajegunle, a 25-year-old man, Mr. Adeyanju Mathew, was murdered. The Corps responded quickly by identifying the body, informing the family, and coordinating with mortuary services, while continuing investigations with Nigeria Police Force to nab the perpetrators of this heinous act. This act of professionalism reflects the agency’s sensitivity during tragedies.
