The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has organized a two-day specialized security training aimed at enhancing the physical fitness, leadership capabilities, and intelligence-gathering skills of its senior operatives.
The training, themed “Physical Fitness: A Must for Senior Security Operatives”, commenced with the arrival of participants on Sunday, 10th August, 2025, at the Corps’ training facility in Ilaro, Ogun State.

On Monday, 11th August, the programme kicked off with an intensive morning fitness drill session designed to strengthen operatives’ stamina, coordination, and discipline. The State Commander of the Corps, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, in his opening address, stressed the importance of continuous capacity building for security personnel, noting that a physically and mentally fit officer is better equipped to meet the evolving challenges of modern security operations.

The day’s academic sessions featured two lectures delivered by Mr. Muideen Bolaji Bakare, Director at the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The first lecture focused on Managerial Skills for Senior Officers, highlighting the importance of effective leadership, decision-making, and resource management in security operations. The second lecture, Etiquette in the Public Service, underscored the need for professionalism, discipline, and ethical conduct in the discharge of official duties.

The training continued on Tuesday, 12th August, with a lecture by Mr. Saliu Olorode, a veteran operative of the Department of State Services (DSS), who shared his wealth of experience in a session titled Intelligence Gathering and Processing. The lecture emphasized strategic surveillance, data analysis, and actionable intelligence as crucial tools for preventing and responding to security threats.

The event also included further fitness drills to reinforce participants’ agility, teamwork, and tactical response skills. At the close of the programme, participants expressed appreciation for the Corps’ commitment to their professional development, pledging to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to enhance security across Ogun State.
Commander Ganzallo commended the state government, resource persons, and participants for their dedication, reiterating the Corps’ determination to maintain high operational standards through continuous training and re-training of its personnel.
