Brief History of So-Safe Corps

On 11th October, 2011, the Senator Ibikunle Amosun FCA, CON led Administration incorporated the Vigilante Group of Nigeria into the mainstream of the Security Agencies in the State and the Agency was inaugurated as Vigilante Service of Ogun State to combat crime and criminalities in conjunction with other security Agencies in the state.

On Thursday 13th July, 2017 the Ogun State House of Assembly passed the bill establishing the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps Agency Law 2017 which took over all the functions of the Vigilante Service of Ogun State (VSO). On Wednesday 27th December, 2017 the former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun FCA,CON assented the bill and was subsequently gazetted by the Ministry of Justice, while the official flag off of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) was conducted by the Ogun State Government on Tuesday 14th May, 2019.
