The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested a 22-year-old suspect for alleged murder in Ihunbo, near Idiroko, Ogun State.

The State Commander, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo confirmed the arrest through an official statement. The Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi, released the statement to the public.

According to the Commander, the incident occurred on April 10, 2026, at about 4:00 p.m. On that day, the Director of Anti-Arms Smuggling, ACC Abdulkareem Abdulrazaq, received a distress call.

The call came from the Onihunbo of Ihunbo Land, HRM Olamide Adeshiyan, who reported a suspected murder case. Immediately, the Anti-Arms Smuggling patrol team mobilised to the scene.

Consequently, operatives acted swiftly and arrested the suspect without delay.

During preliminary interrogation, the suspect, identified as Solomon Fadele Sunday, confessed to the crime. He stated that he met the victim, identified simply as Taye, on April 5, 2026, in Ihunbo.

According to him, they stayed together until her death on April 10, 2026. He added that the victim was from Ikoga, Lagos State. However, he claimed he had no further details about her residence or family.

Following the arrest, the Corps transferred the suspect to the Nigeria Police Force, Idiroko Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Meanwhile, the Police evacuated the victim’s body to the Ilaro Mortuary.

The So-Safe Corps reaffirms its commitment to protecting lives and maintaining security across Ogun State. The Corps also urges residents to report suspicious activities promptly.
