Operatives of the Ogun State Community Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) have successfully foiled a violent assault by suspected cultists at Methodist High School, Arigbajo, located within the Ewekoro Local Government Area.

This is contained in a statement by the State Commander, Cmdr. (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo and made available by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander of Corps, Adegunwa Adebuyi.

According to the statement, at approximately 12pm on Monday, June 29, 2026, the Corps received a distress call indicating that a large group of suspected armed cultists had invaded the school premises. The invaders actively targeted both students and teaching staff. Consequently, gallant officers of the corps were immediately deployed to the scene. The team swiftly engaged the hoodlums, who were armed with machetes, knives, charms, and other dangerous weapons.

Due to the tactical and decisive action of our officers, the attackers were repelled and chased out of the school environment, successfully preventing any injuries or casualties among the students and members of staff accordingly. Following a hot pursuit, four (4) key suspects were apprehended. Three of the arrested suspects who are students of Papa High School, Ewekoro are; Adeyemi Toyosi, 'm',18, SSS 3, Taiwo Adeniji, 'm', 17, SSS 2 student, and Olusoji Olaleye, 'm', 17, SSS 2. Also arrested was Muhammad Mustafa, 'm', 16, a non-student, scrap metal collector and a native of Kebbi State.

While other suspects escaped with some arms, a cutlass was recovered and processed as exhibits.

In line with inter-agencies' collaboration, the suspects and recovered exhibits have been officially transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Itori Divisional Headquarters for thorough investigation and possible prosecution.

The State Commander of Corps reiterates the agency's zero-tolerance policy for cultism and school violence. Parents and guardians are strongly urged to closely monitor the activities and peers of their children and wards. He said, the So-Safe Corps remains fully committed to working with communities to ensure the safety of all educational institutions across Ogun State.
