The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps, has arrested a suspect for armed robbery in Itele, Ogun State.

This is according to the State Commander, Cmdr. (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander, Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

In line with the statement, officers from the Itele-Ayetoro Area Command led by the Area Commander, Itele Area Command, ACC Abayomi Abass, arrested the 25-year-old robbery suspect, Babatunde Ayinla, on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at about 1am during a routine patrol around the Orji Block Bus Stop along Lafenwa Road. While on patrol, the team received a distressed call regarding an ongoing robbery in the Ladot axis.

In a quick response, the operatives swiftly mobilized to the scene. While some members of the syndicate escaped from the scene on a stolen motorcycle, operatives successfully cornered and pinned down Ayinla, a resident of Amikanle community.

In the process of conducting a search on the suspect immediately after his arrest, items such as; one locally fabricated pistol, two rounds of unspent live ammunition and one local protective charm were recovered from him.

Subsequently, the suspect and recovered items has been handed over to the Itele Police Station for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The State Commander have assured residents that tracking and surveillance teams are currently in pursuance of the fleeing suspects and if possible, recover the stolen motorcycle and ensure that they face the full wrath of the law.
