The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has apprehended a 32-year-old man, Olanrewaju Adebayo, in connection with the alleged theft of three pieces of 16mm iron rods.

In a statement issued by the State Commander, (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, and made available by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi, the Corps disclosed that credible information concerning the alleged theft was received on 18 August 2026 at about 7am.

Following receipt of the information, officers of the Corps stationed at Canaan City Divisional Headquarters immediately commenced efforts to identify the suspect and recover the allegedly stolen materials.

According to the State Commander, the suspect allegedly removed the three 16mm iron rods and subsequently conveyed them to another person's premises, along Ilasa Road, Adebisi, Iyesi Ota, reportedly with the intention of selling them.

At approximately 11am, operatives of the Corps successfully apprehended the suspect at the premises where he had allegedly taken the iron rods for the intended sale. The recovered iron rods were secured as exhibits, while the suspect was taken into custody.

The suspect and the recovered exhibits have subsequently been handed over to the Obasanjo Police Station for further investigation and appropriate legal action.

The State Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, commended the Divisional Officer, SC Tajudeen Abdulkareem, and his team for their professionalism, courage, prompt response and commitment to duty.

Dr. Ganzallo reiterated the Corps' commitment to intelligence-led security operations, protection of lives and property, and effective collaboration with other security agencies in the fight against crime across Ogun State.

He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide credible and timely information to security agencies whenever they observe suspicious activities.

“The safety of lives and property remains our priority. We will continue to work with other security agencies and will not relent in our efforts to make Ogun State and its environs safer for all residents.” Ganzallo said.

The So-Safe Corps further assured the public that all persons apprehended in connection with alleged criminal activities would be treated in accordance with the law, while thorough investigations would be conducted to establish the facts of each case.
