The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps, has apprehended a male suspect for vandalizing and stealing cables in Ogun.

This was recorded in a statement by the State Commander, Cmdr. (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, and released by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

According to the statement, at about 12 noon of August 12, 2026, the Agency received an urgent call from One Accord Community, Lafenwa-Itele Road of an ongoing crime in the community. In a quick response, the Divisional Officer, Itele Divisional Headquarters, SC Ogunkunle Oluwagbemiga, mobilized his team to the alleged crime scene where 21 year old, male suspect Ajekunle Olubode, was caught in the nefarious act. Unfortunately, the cables has been vandalized and removed before operatives arrived.

In the course of preliminary investigation, he confessed that this was not his first time of commiting such a crime in that house. He said he has stolen items like pumping machine before he was eventually caught. Meanwhile, he said his mode of of operation has always been to survey and observe any house that is not occupied for days before striking at night. Furthermore , he stated that, he has been in that house three days prior his arrest

Subsequently, he said there are standby customers that he sells the proceeds of the crimes to.

Thereafter, the suspect and recovered exhibits were handed over to the Itele Police Station for further investigation and possible prosecution.
